Final Project Ideas

EntryWay Storage Chest

I

For my final project, I plan on making a bench like the one above. As is, it is 40 inches long, but I'll reduce it to about 2 feet. The materials list in this post includes 1x1 (ripped from scrap 1x6), 1x3, 1x4, 1x6, 2x2, and 3/4 plywood.

The 1x3 will cost about $3.50, the 1x4 will cost about $4.50. The plywood will cost about $40, but I won't need the whole board, so I can split the cost with anyone else who needs some plywood.

Final Project Ideas

Hello. These are a few bookcases I found online that look similar to what I am thinking about creating. I am planning on using either normal 3/4" plywood or some kind of nice, soft feeling and durable wood that can be painted a certain color. I was initially planning to do a TV stand or something of the like, but realized that would be too big to do (and too costly)

Final Project Idea 2

I have decided to go with the first picture I posted last time. I will be making the frame out of 3/4" A/C plywood (or a different grade if you would like). The shelves will probably be 1/4” plywood of the same grade. I am considering making the unit 3’ tall, 3’ wide, and 2 1/2’ deep. This would provide enough space for a large paper cutter (30” x 30”) to sit on top. Entire gel sheets can also fit on the shelves as the industry standard is 20” x 24”. I plan on having the shelves be roughly about 2” tall, which would allow for around 17 shelves. With these measurements, I guesstimate I will need  2 sheets of 3/4” plywood and about 6 sheets of 1/4” plywood. Also, I can definitely look into how many casters would be needed and we should discuss if you would like swivel castors or straight castors. I am also willing to make two units.

Final Project Idea 2

I've decided to do a nightstand like the ones pictured above.
The dimensions would be 20" sides with 5" legs for the overall height, the width would be 18" and a length of 16".
For materials, I would use 3/4" BC plywood. I would also need four 5" table legs, drawer slides, and a handle. Assembling with pocket screws seems to be an aesthetically pleasing option for joining the main parts of the nightstand.
From some general research I've done, it will cost around $50-$60 for the materials.
