Final Project SketchUp

Planning

I really enjoyed making the SketchUp model of my project. I was worried that I had forgotten everything we learned about modeling, but I made it through okay!
I tried to construct my model in the same order that I would build it, so I started by constructing the body of the stool- front and back, the sides, and the bottom. Then I built the side supports. At this point, I realized I had forgotten to make the pieces into components, so I had to go back and redo everything. It was a little annoying, but it made it easier to work with in the long run. I finished the side supports and then made the lid.
While I was making the model, I made some changes to my plan for the bench. I had planned to have some 1x1s connecting the two side supports, but I decided that I liked the way it looked without them. I was also planning on having the boards on the front, back, and top cut up into different lengths to add some visual interest, but after modeling it I decided I preferred the look of one long board.
Overall, I felt good about my model and it helped me better understand what I wanted from my project.
